please do not open all these threads for the same question...
instead of providing the "MSSQLSERVER" name (which only is the name of the
service) provide the server name (=ComputerName or ComputerName\InstanceName
for named instances)

"Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection"

Hello,
Having some trouble here with a CRM installation, and I think there is
something wrong with our SQL Server, since we got the exact same issue with
another application.
Anyhow, we got a SQL Server 2000 SP4. Right now we are running databases for
Microsoft Navision 4.0 and a .NET webshop, and it works fine. Installed a new
server the otherday (Windows Server 2003 SP1) for Microosoft CRM, and want
the CRM-databases on our current SQL Server.
During installation we get the following error:
=====================
Microsoft CRM 3.0 Server Setup
Activating SQL Server Reporting Services failed.
Setup failed to validate specified Reporting Services Report Server
http://CRM1/ReportServer. Error: The report server cannot open a connection
to the report server database. A connection to the database is required for
all requests and processing.
=====================
I press "Ignore" just to finish the installation, and it continues. After
that, when trying to connect to http://crm1 to access the system (from the
CRM1 server), it just gives the following .NET-error:
=========================
Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL
Server connection.
=========================
Been Googleing and testing alot of stuff, but can't find the solution. I am
not that great on SQL Server, so we got a few other people to look at it, but
it just doesn't work.
Anyone know what to do, I'm clueless...
Problem solved.
On the SQL Server, in "local security policy" --> "access this computer from
the network" was only "domain/domain users" specified. I added CRM1 (the
server), and it started to work.

"Error!" msg during "setup support files" installation

Windows 2003 Server. Asp.Net 1.1. Sql Server 2000 Sp3a.
"Error!" msg during "setup support files" installation.
Unable to install Reporting Services. Found a couple of users experiencing
the same problem, but no solution :( Any ideas?
/ChrisFirst, check the error log in Event Viewer and see if you can find any
EventID number for your error. That can pinpoint what the error really is.
If it's error 25619, then check if the DTC service is running? Go check in
services.msc for "Distributed Transaction Coordinator".
Even if it says "started", it might not be. I've had some troubles with
installing RS, and the DTC was the culprit.
It's been discussed in this thread:
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&threadm=89FD4D17-1F6A-4BCF-A15E-CF098C5A68D7%40microsoft.com&rnum=1
In this thread, Pitroda asks about a password for Network Service. Just
leave the password blank, at least that worked for me.

"...could not load DCOM"

Hello.
I have the same problem.
Version is
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 - 8.00.2039 - Service Pack 4 installed.
Before installation SP4 I had error "Unexpected NULL value returned for
column '[OpenXML].OutSourcedPartCount' from the OLE DB provider
'OpenXML'. This column cannot be NULL." when I didn't specified values
(no XML branches) for columns with default values.
Any ideas?

View this thread: http://www.mcse.ms/message184753.htmlI can add that in event viewer I have such entries after calling my
stored proc :
Source: MSSQLSERVER
"Failed to Initialize COM (CoInitializeEx returned 80010119)"
"Heterogeneous Queries and Remote RPC will be disabled."
